Centre extends electric two wheeler subsidies till July 31

The Ministry of Heavy Industries has extended subsidies for electric two-wheelers until July 2026 and e-rickshaws/e-carts until March 2028. The target for e2w has been significantly increased to 2.48 million units, with substantial funds already disbursed. While e2w and large e-3w sales are robust, e-cart and e-rickshaw categories have seen minimal achievement, leading to a reduced fund allocation.
