Man Utd now keen to sign "world-class" 27yo star, £61m deal could be agreed
Manchester United have entered the race to sign Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Cristian Romero amid interest from Atletico Madrid, according to Spanish outlet Marca.
The Argentine was linked with a move to Atletico last summer, but a deal did not materialise. Romero ended up signing a new long-term contract with Spurs until June 2029.
Despite this, his future remains in the balance. Tottenham value their centre-back at around £61 million, but there is a special £52m clause for Atletico and Real Madrid.
