Uttar Pradesh plans to plant over 30 crore saplings in 2026 monsoon; forest cover up 559 sq km in 9 years

Uttar Pradesh is gearing up for a massive tree plantation drive in monsoon 2026. The Forest department aims to plant over 30 crore saplings. This initiative builds on the success of planting more than 242 crore saplings in the past nine years. The state government is actively preparing nurseries and allocating significant funds for forestry schemes.
