Alessandro Bastoni is making encouraging progress in his recovery ahead of Italy’s crucial World Cup play-off clash with Northern Ireland.

The Inter Milan defender had been dealing with an ankle issue following a knock sustained in the derby, after a challenge with Adrien Rabiot. Initial concerns arose when Bastoni was limited to light training, focusing on running drills and changes of direction to test the injury.
