EC approves transfer of returning officers for West Bengal polls 2026

The Election Commission has approved the transfer of returning officers for the upcoming West Bengal assembly polls. This includes Bhabanipur, the constituency of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Officers must report to their constituencies by March 24 for training. Elections for the 294-member assembly are scheduled for April 23 and 29. Counting will take place on May 4.
