What is HumanMetapneumovirus?
This little-known respiratory virus shows up during cold and flu season, sometimes mistaken for the flu or RSV and has similar symptoms. It was first discovered in 2001, according to UC Davis.
“Infection transmits by coughing and sneezing, close personal contact (touching or shaking hands), or touching contaminated objects or surfaces, then touching the mouth, nose or eyes,” according to a news release.
