MLS unveils dates for 14-match 2027 Sprint season as it transitions to summer-to-spring calendar

March 20 – Major League Soccer has released details of its shortened 2027 MLS Sprint Season, which will see each MLS team play 14 regular-season games.

Played from February to May 2027, teams will only play clubs their own conference – seven matches at home and seven matches away.

The Sprint season is the fix that will enable the MLS to transition to alignment with the European season’s summer-to-spring calendar.
