A police force’s AI-powered facial recognition system mistook an innocent man for a burglar.
Alvi Choudhury, 26, was arrested at about 4pm on January 7 while he was working from his home in Southampton.
Thames Valley Police systems matched his mugshot – taken during a false arrest five years ago – to CCTV footage of a thief who stole £3,000 and jewellery from Milton Keynes Buddhist Vihara in December.
