Assam polls: BJP to contest 89 seats, AGP 26 and BPF 11, says Himanta Biswa Sarma

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the BJP will contest 89 seats, while allies Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and Bodoland People's Front (BPF) will be given 26 and 11 seats, respectively. Sarma also offered disgruntled Congress MP Pradyut Bordoloi the option to join the BJP and contest from any Assembly seat if he wishes.
