A powerful storm system is expected to bring severe weather across Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. Following a cloudy start, warmer temperatures will increase into the upper 60s and low 70s, helping result in strong thunderstorms by the afternoon and evening. Damaging wind gusts between 65 and 75 mph are the major concern, although isolated tornadoes are also possible.
