Cyprus last in use of public transport in EU

Cyprus recorded the lowest use of public transport among all EU countries in 2024, with 85 per cent not using it, significantly higher that the EU average, Eurostat said on Wednesday.

According to Eurostat figures, in 2024, 10.7 per cent of people 16 years or over in the EU used some sort of public transport every day, 11.6 per cent every week, 10 per cent every month and 17.1 per cent less than once a month. On the other hand, 50.6 per cent did not use public transport.
