Assam govt transfers Rs 9,000 each to 40 lakh women beneficiaries

Assam's government has disbursed ₹3,600 crore to 4 million women through the Orunodoi scheme. This marks the state's largest direct benefit transfer. Beneficiaries received ₹9,000 each, covering four months and a Bihu festival bonus. The Chief Minister pledged to expand the scheme and increase payouts if the BJP is re-elected.
