Lifetime bans for two MLS players caught in gambling probe
March 10 – Major League Soccer has handed Derrick Jones and Yaw Yeboah lifetimes bans for “extensive” gambling, including on games involving their own teams.
In a statement, MLS said that the players were put on administrative leave in October 2025 after the league had received “suspicious betting alerts” and retained a law firm. Both players were then found to have bet on matches throughout the 2024 and 2025 seasons.
