Pakistan tells UN Security Council militant groups in Afghanistan threaten global security
Pakistan’s envoy to the United Nations Security Council warned that militant groups operating from Afghanistan pose a threat not only to Pakistan but to the wider region and the world.
Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad said groups such as Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan, Islamic State Khorasan, and Al-Qaeda have found safe havens inside Afghanistan and use them to launch attacks against Pakistan.
