Women's employment in India is growing. The female labour force participation rate rose to 35.1% in January. More women are also launching businesses, co-founding 4.82% of tech startups in 2025. Despite these advances, women are still underrepresented in leadership roles. Significant pay gaps also remain a challenge for women across the country.
