I frequently travel with my godkids. Whenever we travel out of state, I bring these 3 documents with me.

• I bring passports even when TSA says minors don't need IDs.
• I carry notarized consent forms from each child's parents.
• I pack copies of birth certificates as extra proof when we fly.

I don't have kids, and therefore, I take a lot of trips with my godsons.
