Prior to Dena sinking, New Delhi okayed docking of Iranian ships

India provided docking facilities to Iranian warship IRIS Lavan at Kochi following a request from Iran due to technical problems. This occurred on the same day its sister ship, IRIS Dena, was attacked and sunk by an American submarine off Sri Lanka. The third ship, IRIS Busheher, found shelter in Sri Lanka.
