Freight loading rises nearly 4% on year in February 2026: Railway Ministry

Indian Railways transported 137.72 million tonnes of freight in February 2026. This marks a 3.96 per cent rise from the previous year. Freight revenue also saw a 2.97 per cent increase. The Net Tonne Kilometres reached 76,007 million, showing a 4.18 per cent growth. Core sector commodities like coal, steel, and fertilisers drove this performance.
