Forest dept conducts conservation awareness programme at Purunabandh

As mass nesting of endangered Olive Ridley turtles nears at Rushikulya river mouth, the Berhampur forest division, alongside university students, conducted an awareness program. Experts emphasized the turtles' role as indicators of a healthy marine ecosystem, urging community protection during the sensitive nesting period. Sporadic nesting has already begun, with thousands of turtles congregating near the coast.
