Texas Border Patrol Fatally Shoots Man Who Fled Checkpoint and Shot at Officers

Border Patrol agents on Wednesday fatally shot a man who fled a border checkpoint in a stolen car and shot at officers.

The deceased shooter was identified as 33-year-old James Douglas McMillan of Wisconsin.

McMillan was crossing through a border patrol checkpoint east of El Paso when agents asked him to pull over.

He immediately sped off and began shooting out his window at agents and at civilian cars.

Border Patrol Agents pursued McMillan for 70 miles and eventually stopped his vehicle with a maneuver.
