To the editor: Lucas County’s great distraction

If a local political leader promoted a gathering of white supremacists or spoke at a rally demonizing the LBGTQ community there would be extensive protests. The public official would face widespread criticism and demands to resign. Recently, Lucas County Democratic Party chairman Schuyler Beckwith and Lucas County Commissioner Pete Gerken have done exactly that. However, their focus is on Israel and the Jewish community in Lucas County and around the world.
