Fire at top Ecuador refinery under control: Petroecuador

A fire erupted at Ecuador's largest oil refinery, Petroecuador's Esmeraldas facility. The blaze occurred in the charge pumps of a processing unit. Operations were temporarily halted as firefighters brought the situation under control. This marks the second incident at the refinery this year. The company stated the flames were from spilled material and did not pose a spreading risk.
