Mild weather brings widespread ice risk across southern Finland
Finland enters the weekend under mild and unsettled conditions, with authorities warning of extensive ice on pavements across the south and centre of the country.
The Finnish Meteorological Institute said on Thursday that snowfall will weaken in eastern areas and eastern Lapland by the evening, while a new band of snow reaches Northern Ostrobothnia from the west. Over the past two days, up to 15 centimetres of snow has fallen in south-eastern Finland.
