S.F. Opera new season: ‘Simon Boccanegra,’ ‘Mary, Queen of Scots’

San Francisco Opera has announced details of its 104th season, and General Director Matthew Shilvock is feeling proud of what’s coming.

The season, set to run Sept. 12 through June 25, 2027, has a full array of productions, concerts and special events on the calendar.

The fall season performances in the War Memorial Opera House begin with Verdi’s “Simon Boccanegra,” conducted by company music director Eun Sun Kim and directed by Claus Guth, and featuring a “New to San Francisco”...
