Former Tunisian PM Larayedh jailed for 24 years in Syria jihadist case

Former Tunisian Prime Minister Ali Larayedh received a 24-year prison sentence. He was convicted of helping Tunisian jihadists travel to Syria. His party claims the case is politically motivated. This follows President Kais Saied's consolidation of power. Larayedh served as prime minister between 2013 and 2014. He denies the charges and plans to appeal.
