Police suspect crime after care home resident dies in Espoo

An elderly resident pressed an alarm button 11 times within an hour. No one answered. The resident died later the same day at a care home in Espoo. Police now suspect a criminal offence.

Western Uusimaa Police said on Thursday that they are investigating the death of an elderly person at the Attendo Olarinpuisto care home in Espoo on 25 January.

The case is being examined under the titles of negligent homicide and endangerment. Police have questioned one person as a suspect and will interview several others.
