In a sweeping cleanliness drive, Ranchi Municipal Corporation has imposed fines totaling Rs 3.95 lakh on violators of sanitation norms and illegal encroachments. Ten special squads are patrolling key roads and business hubs to enforce hygiene rules, as the city ramps up efforts to improve its ranking in the forthcoming Swachh Survekshan survey.
