Seattle is latest US host city to scale back 2026 fan park plans

February 25 – ‘Get ready to have a great party’. When the former mayor of Seattle Bruce Harrell said those words in October 2024, the vision was clear and on a big scale.

Seattle Center, all 74 acres of it, would become the beating heart of the city’s 2026 FIFA World Cup celebration. A tournament-long festival of football for up to 500,000 fans without tickets.
