28% of Jharkhand budget set aside for gender, child schemes

In its 2026–27 budget, Jharkhand has earmarked Rs 45,004 crore for women and children, signaling a strong social welfare push. The plan features a dedicated child budget to expand services for young beneficiaries, a gender budget backing 232 schemes tailored to women’s needs, and the launch of the Mahila Kisan Khushhali Yojna to uplift women farmers.
