Rs 9,072 crore rail boost: Union Cabinet clears three multitracking projects across four states

The Union Cabinet has approved Rs 9,072 crore worth of multitracking projects to expand about 307 km of the Indian Railways network across Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand. Targeted for completion by 2030–31, the projects aim to ease congestion, improve freight movement, and boost connectivity for around 5,400 villages while supporting transport of key bulk commodities.
