Centre clears Rs 1,200 crore plan to redevelop Ashok, Samrat hotels

The NITI Aayog has proposed redeveloping Hotel Ashok and Hotel Samrat in New Delhi under the government’s NMP 2.0 plan, with private investment of about Rs 820 crore and Rs 380 crore respectively through PPP contracts. The ITDC-owned properties will be monetised via redevelopment projects slated for award in FY2027 (Ashok) and FY2030 (Samrat), with investments counting toward monetisation proceeds.
