Melbourne storms knock out power to thousands; conditions expected to ease Wednesday

Melbourne experienced widespread power outages affecting over 4,200 customers on Tuesday afternoon due to heavy rain and thunderstorms. The severe weather also caused localized flooding, with a flood warning for the Maribyrnong River downgraded but further isolated flooding still possible. Victoria-wide, heavy falls and storms are expected to continue into Wednesday.
