Pakistani Militant Commander Killed in Failed Rescue Attack

Pakistan’s Counter-Terrorism Department reports a militant commander was killed during an attack aimed at rescuing him from security forces.

Pakistan’s Counter-Terrorism Department said the death of Osama, also known as Baghi, occurred when militants attacked a security vehicle transporting him.

The agency stated that a fierce firefight broke out, resulting in Osama’s death by his own loyalist gunfire; he led the “Ittehad-ul-Mujahideen Pakistan,” a TTP-Gul Bahadur collaboration.
