The World Food Programme (WFP) in Afghanistan announced that the Government of Japan has contributed four million dollars to fund emergency food assistance and nutrition support across the country. The announcement was made in a statement released on Sunday.
According to WFP, the funding will enable life-saving food assistance for approximately 80,000 Afghans over a 12-month period. The agency said that families facing acute food insecurity, particularly in vulnerable and hard-to-reach areas, will be prioritized under the program.
