Eric Dane Died Exactly 20 Years After His First 'Grey's Anatomy' Episode Aired

Eric Dane is best known for his role as McSteamy on Grey’s Anatomy and his death occurred on the 20th anniversary of his first appearance on the show.

The beloved actor made his debut on Grey’s during the season two finale, which aired on February 19, 2006.

Eric passed away at the age of 53 on February 19, 2026 following a battle with ALS, which he announced just 10 months ago.
