Missouri, once up by 21, barely edges No. 19 Vanderbilt

Jayden Stone scored 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds as Missouri held off No. 19 Vanderbilt 81-80 on Wednesday in Columbia, Mo.

The Tigers (18-8, 8-5 Southeastern Conference) led 65-44 with 8:41 left to play before the Commodores (21-5, 8-5) staged a furious rally that fell just short.

After Tyler Nickel hit a 3-point jumper to pull Vanderbilt within one point with one second to go, the Commodores' Tyler Tanner intercepted the inbound pass and had his halfcourt heave roll around the rim and out at the buzzer.
