UT Austin's new 3D printer tech creates bodies that feel real

Researchers at The University of Texas at Austin have developed a new 3D‑printing method that uses nothing but light and a single, inexpensive resin to create lifelike anatomical models with bone‑hard cores and soft, tissue‑like exteriors. Born from a serendipitous discovery at Sandia National Laboratories, the technique — called CRAFT — could give medical schools a realistic, low‑cost alternative to cadavers while opening the door to new designs in protective gear and advanced materials.
