US urges stronger transatlantic alliance at Munich Security Conference

Marco Rubio’s address at the Munich Security Conference marked a more conciliatory stance for the U.S., following Vice President JD Vance’s harsh critique of Europe last year for ignoring an internal “threat,” shirking its defense responsibilities, and allowing left-wing influence in cultural matters. Although Rubio still encouraged European allies to consider policies akin to Donald Trump’s America, his speech clearly aimed to ease tensions and mend transatlantic relations.
