Gains were notable at times: Nifty 50 jumped 4% on March 13, 2020, and rose about 1% on September 13 and December 13, 2019, as well as on August 13, 2021, and December 13, 2024. However, today Sensex and Nifty slipped 1%, dragged by IT stocks, erasing Rs 4.62 lakh crore in market value.
