Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister M K Stalin has recently distributed Rs 5,000 to a remarkable 1.31 crore women through the Kalaignar Women's Entitlement scheme. With a keen eye on the forthcoming Assembly elections, he has promised to boost the monthly allowance to Rs 2,000 for beneficiaries if his DMK party wins.
