Parliament Watch: Social security coverage jumps to 64.3% in 2025

India's social security coverage has seen a remarkable surge, reaching 64.3% in 2025. New safety mandates for heavy vehicles are set to be implemented from October 2027 and January 2028. The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation has also witnessed substantial growth, with contributing members rising to 73.7 million in 2023-24.
