RERA only benefits defaulting builders, best to abolish it: SC

The Supreme Court on Thursday questioned the functioning of the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) in several states and said it was time for states to revisit how the body is constituted. The remarks came during a hearing on a Himachal Pradesh government plea challenging a High Court order that stayed the shifting of the state RERA office from Shimla to Dharamshala.
