Finland sends ski jumping coach Igor Medved home over alcohol breach

Finland has sent national ski jumping head coach Igor Medved home from the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics after officials confirmed a breach of team rules linked to alcohol use during the Games. Team leaders said the incident took place outside working hours but broke agreed standards.

The Finnish Olympic Committee announced on Thursday that Medved had left Italy and returned to Finland. Team leader Janne Hänninen said the decision followed a report received on Wednesday.
