Trump issues rare apology to 'cherished' red state after backing 'RINO' governor
President Donald Trump issued a rare apology on Wednesday night to voters in one of the president's "cherished' red states.
Trump told the voters of ruby red Oklahoma in a post on Truth Social that he was "sorry" for supporting Republican Gov. Kevin Stitt, who Trump described as a "RINO," an acronym for Republican in name only. Trump made the comments at a time when he suffered a stinging setback in Congress, as Republicans in the House voted with Democrats to cancel Trump's tariffs.
