Liquor revenues on course but dropping sales worry distillers, retailers in Karnataka
Karnataka is on track to meet its ₹40,000 crore excise revenue target for 2025–26 despite a fall in liquor consumption after repeated tax hikes. The excise department has collected ₹33,371 crore in the first 10 months, up ₹3,911 crore or 13.72% from the same period last year, helped by higher levies even as sales slowed.
