Meta, Google stand trial over accusations apps designed to addict children

A landmark trial began in a California court Monday in which social media giants Meta and Google-owned YouTube stand accused of designing their apps to be addictive to children. "This case is about two of the richest corporations in history who have engineered addiction in children's brains," plaintiffs' attorney Mark Lanier told the jury in his opening statement.
