Airlines' cumulative loss touched Rs 5,289.73 crore in 2024-25: Govt

Indian airlines faced significant financial challenges last fiscal year. The sector collectively lost over Rs 5,289 crore. Air India Group alone reported a substantial loss of Rs 9,808 crore. Only four airlines, including IndiGo, managed to achieve profitability. Airfares are determined by market forces, not government regulation. This data was presented to the Rajya Sabha.
