Hong Kong media tycoon Jimmy Lai has received a 20-year jail sentence. He was convicted on charges of colluding with foreign forces and publishing seditious materials. This marks the city's most significant national security case. Lai, founder of the now-closed Apple Daily newspaper, was arrested in August 2020. His conviction came after a nearly five-year legal process.
