West Bengal has presented an interim budget of Rs 4.06 lakh crore for fiscal year 2026-27. A key proposal includes an additional Rs 500 monthly increase for women under the Lakshmi Bhandar scheme, effective February 2026. Additionally, gig workers will now be covered by state social security programs like Swasthyasathi.
