Orissa high court awards Rs 5 lakh compensation for 20-year job appointment delay

Orissa high court has ordered the state to pay Rs 5 lakh compensation to a job-seeker denied appointment for over two decades, despite a tribunal's favourable order. Justices Dixit Krishna Shripad and Chittaranjan Dash criticised the tribunal's decision to drop contempt proceedings, emphasising that successful litigants cannot be left remediless.
